Cassinia aculeata

ASTERACEAE – Cassinia aculeata – Common Cassinia, Dogwood, Mountain Itch

This plant (only one) was seen on Turrimetta Head from 2011 to 2015 and then it died. I also saw it once on the Towler’s Bay track, off West Head Road in 2015 and I have not found it again. This does seem to be one of the more difficult species to identify but I think this is distinctly different to the species growing on Bangalley Head. This plant was seen flowering from December to March.
