DILLENIACEAE – Hibbertia cistiflora ssp. cistiflora – Rock Rose Guinea-flower
Found on the Caleyi Track, Chiltern Track North, Chiltern Road West, Cromer Heights, Deep Creek ridge, Manly Dam, Terrey Hills and the West Head tracks. Seen flowering from April to October. This Hibbertia seems to flower much earlier than other Hibbertia species on the Northern Beaches and it has a largish flower compared to the others. The leaves are linear and sometimes appear sparsely on the stems. Mostly has 6 stamens (I have seen 5,7 and 8) and has 2 bright green carpels.
